I dont usually like to say this,,,but I use MY perfume,and i sometimes use bleach(pure)spraybottled.,furniture polish,I just spray crap over the outer edge and spray the inside bfore closing the g-bag to insure poisonuos stuffff.... animals r smart...Ifthey dont recognise that smell they WONT touch.

Home improvment stores carry animal repellant, or you may want to try cayenne pepper, or put a chain over the lid and lock it up. Or get a vinyl storage chest large enough and lock it up that way.

we use a 50/50 ammonia water solution in a spray bottle.
if you think it is going to rain...spray a couple of paper towels, and put them in the top of the can before you put the lid on. it usually only takes a few days/times then they leave it alone. that's when you just spray the front of the can before you put it on the street.

I use a trash can with a lid, and a bungee cord to hold the lid in place.

if it is an outdoor garbage can they have them available that has a plastic device that locks it. however, if the animal turns it over, it still pops open sometime. try bungee cords around it. you have to hook several together to have it fit. or drill a hole in the lid and in the base and hook a bungee thru the holes. you may have to put holes on each side, but will only need to unhook one side to put garbage into it
