if you are 41 weeks and haven't gone into labor yet, they will induce you at 42 weeks. Inducing isn't that bad, you will be given an IV of either Oxytocin or Pitocin which will make you start contracting and your cervix dialating. If you are at any time in too much pain where you can't stand it, all you have to do is tell your nurse that you want pain meds. There are a couple ways you could go with these, so your nurse will explain...IV meds, which will basically be like taking a vicodin. it will make you sleepy, but you will still have some sensations in your uterus. Epidural, which will numb you from the waist down. You won't feel anything and most likely sleep through most of your labor. If you get an epidural you can't start pushing until you can feel yourself have a contraction. That is the only bad thing. And if your doctor thinks that you may tear, he will probably do an episiotomy, where they make a slight cut down there. You won't feel it, and after the birth, they will either put stiches or let it heal itself. If you truley want to have a c-section, then you have to let your doctor know, but those take more time to heal and are usually more painful afterwards. I hope i helped you. Good luck

You should try to have the baby through your vagina. That is the healthiest way for you and the baby. About 1 in 4 women need to have an episiotomy (cut with scalpel--not razor) in order to let the baby's head out. This heals very quickly.
However, I am concerned that you are 41 weeks pregnant. The doctor should induce labor now! I'm especially concerned that the baby is moving a lot in there--I think the baby may be in distress because you've been pregnant so long and there is no room and less fluid.
May I ask what country you live in?

I have given birth 8 times. Don't worry, your body is designed to go back to normal shortly after the birth. Give your body about a month. You most likely wont tear if you are having multiple babies, as they are each small. Even if your baby is 9 pounds you won't tear, if you relax. It is your choice. By the time the babies are ready to come out you will be so excited that you won't care very much about anything but meeting your children! It's true! =)
Remember, you were designed to be able to do this!
Congrats momma! Babies are a very special blessing!
edit* to induce labor I suggest walking without stopping for about 3 hours. Stay upright (don't lay down) for as long as you can, it speeds up the birth. Oxytocin will be given to you through I.V. by the doctor to speed things up at the hospital, if you want it.

Iam not a doctor, but the usual method of delivering multiple babies is through a C-Section. An incision on your lower abdomen It causes less stress for the babies and they can get them out faster . I would not be so worried about your vagina right now, you are going to have seven babies. Lets just pray that they are all healthy and everything goes well.

Honey you don't have to worry about your vagina staying big after delivery as far as that goes its almost like elastic down there!
I had both of my kids by c-section because of a complication with my pelvis. And from talking with my friends who have had vaginal births trust me you would rather have the vaginal delivery! The recovery is much better and faster!
Please don't be scared its natural I know but, your body is made to birth a child and if not your doctor will let you know.
Good luck and congradulations! Everything is going to be fine!

Awe, I can tell your scared. Vaginal birthing is the most amazing thing. It's what our bodies were designed to do. It's scary I know... especially if this is your first... but the lengthy recovery and risks involved after having a C secton arent' worth it. a 7lb baby isn't THAT big, I delivered a 8lb 13oz baby just fine vaginally and no your vagina doesnt' stay "big" afterwords... it shrinks back up. You'll bleed for about 6 weeks after delivering anyway so you wont have to worry about having sex until it's all shrinked back up anyway.

it is best and safer to give birth through the birthcanal (vagina) c section is painless at the moment but just as scarey and even more painful afterwords they have pain medication to help with the birth and then you feel nothing untill after ward but it isnt nearly as bad as a c section so vaginal is best dont worry you forget all of the pain as soon as you see your beutiful babys face

All mothers go through the same thing, and yes sometimes doctors do slightly cut the vaginal canal to prevent damage when the baby is born. Try not to worry. You will be ok and so will your babies.
