You've pinched your sciatic nerve which runs from your spine down your leg. Lying on the floor with your knees up and your feet flat may help relieve it.

I suffer from almost the same, well, severe and debilitating pelvic and lower back pain on a daily basis that I take a very high dose of vicodin for because I have a horrid female condition called endometrosis. How are your periods? Do you have a history of cysts? That would be my first guess, but there is probably perhaps a half dozen other explanations for your pain but I have heard your symptoms because that of endometrosis IF your periods and fertility is affected. Good luck and I pray you find out what is causing your pain and make it go away. <><

Have someone rub some ice where you injured it. See an orthopedist and ask him to prescribe physical therapy 3x a week for 4 weeks. Get the prescription renewed if it helps. Don't run into surgery. A recent study found that pt is just as good as surgery.
Also take ibuprophen.

It sounds like a pinched nerve. I would head to the chiro as soon as possible. Don't apply heat to the area, it will inflame it and make it feel worse in the long run....use an ice pack instead.
I hope you get it taken care of soon!
