Humans like getting points, even if we can't really spend them on anything. Humans also like having other people respond to them, even if the answers aren't particularly relevant and don't make much sense.

This is so much not a waste of time. I only joined a week ago but I have found the address of a friend in South Africa, whom I imagined never being able to contact again and I have people helping me to look for accommodation in Grahamstown during Graduation Week - 11 - 16 April 07. I have answered several questions and have already been given four 'Best Answers' - which makes me feel as though I have helped someone. This is great.

I would´t call it a waste of time , I have plenty things to do but i see how much work I can get done in 15 minutes which if you try it you will find out quit a lot. and still have time to spend here

its not really a waste of time. you can find out some pretty good stuff on here. believe me,if i thought it was a waste of time i wouldnt even bother.
