My hubbie has dragged some old jumpers from an old trunk and says he wants to wear them. I've put them through a woolie wash but they still smell all musty. Any ideas? Don't say chuck them out - for some reason he wants them.

Although febreze is marvelled at by many, i'm a bit pondersome of how safe it actually is. I'm at bit anti-chemical you see. Have you tried soaking them in some room temperature water with a few drops of essential oil? Say lavender? That might help shift it. Or if there's a particularly blowy day, air them outside on the line to blow the cobwebs away so to speak ... I'm sure the more they're washed, the less they'll smell, but instant gratification might not be the easiest to stumble across ... unless of course you go for febreze! and then smell like a caravan!

Good luck!

Did you try a wool conditioner in the final rinse?

Also Fabreze fabric spray.

Also storing in Plastic bag with a tissue that has two drops of pure essential oil lavender, rosemary on it then close bag for a few days see if that will work.

Hang them on the line for a long time to get some fresh air through.

Get the fabreeze air effects that plug into the wall. they have one that is meant to not purely make the room scent sturdy yet attack micro organism, its Orange. My sons room consistently smelled like a foot, and that's what I put in there it works sturdy. additionally in line with risk scent the carpet in case you have any, if so might evaluate steam cleansing it. Carpet can get musty or perhaps mildew scent. do not use the powder carpet stuff, all it does is sink down into the rug and create airborne dirt and dust type allergic reactions. sturdy success and not something incorrect with being a sparkling guy
