This is a little checklist you can go through.

-Make sure you have your speakers/headphones plugged into the right jack.

-Click start/all programs/accessories/entertainment/Volume control. Make sure nothing is muted and your dials are on max.

-Install your sound cards drivers (if your sound is intigrated into your motherboard like most are now days then get your motherboard manufacturers drivers. These can be found on a CD that came with the motherboard/computer or on the Website of your hardwares maker.

Good luck!

1. Where did you download the game? You may have gotten a virus or spyware that could screw up your computer.

2. Check to make sure your speakers are plugged in (and in the right input) to the computer and turned on from your outlet/surge protector

3. Go to control panel and go to sounds and devices and check sound levels there

4. Check in your music player if the sound has been muted

5. Check your sound card

This is probably because your sound card is not being recognized. Find your sound card in control menu and do some tests. It could also be that your C-Media Mixer is turned off. I've had this problem before and it can be frustrating to fix, but fool around and you will figure it out. Then you will know what to do if happens again.

Make sure that in volume control, you have all the volume sliders turned up. If that doesn't work, the actual app might have sound turned off, check that. You should definitely try downloading the latest drivers for your soundcard. Lastly, if the card is actually broken, you might have to buy another one

go to system restore, and restore it back to a date that you had sound.....

if you never had sound you need to go into your device manager in the my computer section, look at audio/video devices and see if your sound cards are active. if it says your driver is inactive you can go to windows help install a driver. you will pick your driver from the list that matches your comp...aka if you have a dell you will pick the dell system that you have ect...if all else fails, go buy a sound card install it and then install the drivers!

Just had this problem myself.
Go to sounds and audio devices in control panel. If you have any icons highlighted click on troubleshooter and rollback drivers.
hope this helps

re install the audio card's driver, or go to conrol panel\audio devices and check if your speakers settings is correct, uncheck the mute box, set the volume up, that should do it.

Did you connect your speakers to your computer? Correctly? Sometimes that happens.
