The basic procedure is exactly the same as dividing numerical fractions: invert and multiply, then simplify. Actually, you can save yourself a little time by simplifying the component fractions before multiplying:

(x²-x-20)/(5x-25) = (x-5)(x+4)/(5(x-5)) = (x+4)/5
(x²+4x-5)/(x²-25) = (x+5)(x-1)/((x+5)(x-5)) = (x-1)/(x-5)

Now invert and multiply:

((x²-x-20)/(5x-25)) / ((x²+4x-5)/(x²-25))
((x+4)/5) / ((x-1)/(x-5))
((x+4)/5) * ((x-5)/(x-1))
(x+4)(x-5)/(5(x-1))
(x²-x-20)/(5x-5)

And thus your result is (x²-x-20)/(5x-5).

[(x^2-x-20)/(5x-25)] / [(x^2+4x-5)/(x^2-25)]
= { [(x+4)(x-5)] / [5(x-5)] } / { [(x-1)(x+5)] / [ (x+5)(x-5) ] }
= [(x+4)(x-5)(x+5)(x-5) ] / [5(x-5)(x-1)(x+5)]
= [(x+4)(x-5) ] / [5(x-1)]
= (1/5) (x^2 - x - 20)/(x - 1)

cancel the like words so the X's , the y's and the numbers yet keep in thoughts they have brackets round them so: when you've canceled you should have (a million+a million)/(a million+2) cases by (a million-3)/(2+2) =2/3 cases by -2/4 then locate your answer strong success

factor all numerators and all denominators. then simplify. your answer should be........ (x-5)(x+4) all over x-1 if i did my math right. XD please try the question, dont only copy the answer.
