1st off keep the cat away from the hamster. it is very stressing to have a predator lying at your door. stress lowers a hamsters life expectancy. 2nd get rid of the cat's fleas! even if u get them off the hamm if the cat still has them he'll get them again. make your parents take your cat to the vet & get flea treatment. u can ask the vet if they have any special treatment for hamms. u cant give them kind for other pets because they are too potent & will kill them. u can try a home remedy for mites. it may work or maybe it is mites & not fleas. u can try Zodiac Wipe Away FOR Small Animals ONLY if it's fleas. can look for it online if its not in your stores.

u have to get new bedding and clean the cage completely to get rid of any eggs. u have to treat your whole house or they wil keep coming back. if u use any of those flea bombs--DO NOT LEAVE the hamster IN the HOUSE while u use it.

MITE REMEDY
1 pint of room temperature water
1 Tablespoon of Witchhazel
1 Tablespoon of Listerine (not flavored)

Apply the solution to the mite infected hamster externally with a washcloth or put the solution in a spray bottle and lightly spray the hamster while being careful to protect the eyes, nose and mouth. After you treat the hamster it is important to clean your hamster's cage and accessories thoroughly, change the bedding and spray the solution lightly in the cage and on the hamster's toys and accessories.

You need to treat your whole house! Your cat needs a flea bath at the LEAST, go to the vet and ask for Revolution. While you're out, go to a pet store and get flea spray for your house, wash EVERYTHING. While you're there, pick up ceder shavings. Give your hamster a flea bath (I would NOT normally recommend bathing a hamster). Scrub the cage and use cedar shavings for at least a week.

Good luck!

a nice homeade remeady that i used for my cats and other hairy creatures... they look pretty funny when your done but it works.... use equal amounts, a half a cup of each should do, baby oil, sunlight dish soap (has to be sunlight) and vinagar .. combine ingredients then in a tub wet the cat and lather on a generous amount of the solution and don't get in their eyes.. it will burn.... make sure the whole animal is covered then rinse well... the fur will be oily which will stop from reinfestation, the vinigar and sunlight kill the pests imediately... but if there are eggs around reinfestation may happen.. fleas suck bad... if you want something you can get to clear it up for good then go with a vet and get advantage... it works.... cheers... ps and bedding can be anything.. newspaper will work fine..

Flea tend to proceed to exist their host animal. So i would not subject too lots. yet eggs might desire to fall off the animal and stay on your carpet. superb guess is to apply a number of that "income" for the cat(got here across at vet sanatorium) and bomb the homestead with flea killer. yet shop the two ANIMALS!!! Hamster's tend to get eaten up greater with the aid of lice and mites, not fleas.
