Your state will have some kind of regulations regarding that. Check with your state employment board such as the CA Dept of Safety and Health.

i would think it's dependent upon the job classification. construction workers can walk multiple miles per day, racked up between supply sites and actual construction sites. postal workers walk walk walk and WALK!!! i'm sure there is some sort of limit for them, just like the 50# lifting limit for delivery and factory jobs, while some positions can allow for a maximum 100# lifting limit. i'm curious as to why you ask. if it's for a new job, just TAKE THE JOB!! be happy you're offered a job in this economy. hope this helped!

I'm sure there's probably a limit, but it's very likely physically unattainable under ordinary circumstances.

I had a cousin that worked as a postal carrier and walked 11.6 miles every day.

I guess it should be depending on where you live and work. If you have a really large plant, either get a bike or suck it up, if he wants you to walk into town (miles away) then you have a beef.

I'm not aware of any of the laws you mention. You don't have to work for him. If you don't like the commute, you won't get the loot! (Hey, that was pretty good.I could have worked O.J.'s defense!)

That all depends on the company bylaws.

You best contact your HR dept, and find out from them

no, because most applications ask if you have transportation, besides that, there is no limit on driving, except the limits you set for yourself
