I do see them everyday. I live about 10 minutes away. I can't afford to give them a vacation or I would to Scotland. I take them out for lunch usually once a week....I appreciate all of your answers though thank you :)

If you can afford it, a cruise would be nice.

Or the most precious gift of all would be something you make yourself. Like maybe put a photo album together of their life from the time they met to present time, maybe have photo's of vacations, kids, grandkids, other relatives, holidays, ect.

You could make a video for them telling them how much you respect them, how they molded your life, gave you the tools to make it in this world, ect.

If you could afford it, you could throw them a party. If you can't afford it, get together with other family, friends of the family, if u attend church you could get them involved, that way it wouldn't be so much expense on yourself. Everyone could contribute.

You could post in your local paper for a card shower. You just post that you would like a card shower for your parents who are married 52 yrs. Total strangers and more than likely ppl they know but have lost contact with will send them cards. A neighbor of mind did this for her 90 y/o mothers b/d and she got over 200 cards! Most of them from total strangers giving her encouragement, congratulations and well wishes. There was even 2 from children of friends the old lady had that passed away. The (adult) children were tickled pink that she was still alive and kicking. Now they come over several times a month and visit with her. The mother said this was the best gift she could have received.

You could do something simple and plain like taking them out to eat at a nice restaurant. Most restaurants today, if you notifiy them in advance will do something nice for the couple like give them a special dessert or sing for them.

Gift cards also work.

Or you could make them a coupon booklet. Put coupons in it for doing yard work for dad, cooking them a special meal, giving mom a manacure, maybe a coupon for hugs, kiss's, back rubs, cleaning house, running errands for them. Use your imagination and you can come up with coupons for all kinds of things.

Make a video of their family and friends, each one talking of a special moment in their lives that involves all of them. Back it up with a Collage of pictures and have a lovely family evening. The best gift any child can give their parents is TIME.

I would say a nice card or a phone call..If you have siblings & everyone chips in pay a bill etc-phone, cable or their rent for one month (this helps any parents on fixed income) But as a parent I know the greatest gift is just an unexpected visit. Hugs are free

I would say either a trip somewhere or a scrapbook of them over the years. You could also go with a gift certificate for a nice night out. It probably depends on how much you want to spend.

give your parents some of your time. just helping them do some little things or talking to them would be great.
if they aren't too well off, you might pay a bill for them or bring them a bunch of the foods that you know they love.
