My problem is that these terminals are in a toy and was caused from a battery leaking, so pouring coca cola on it or getting a wire brush in there is not as easy as one would think. ;(

There are many ways to remove corrosion from the battery terminal. I highly suggest that you disconnect the power source, ( disconnect the battery from the terminal ).

1. The most simplest way is to pour Coke Cola on the corroded spot, wait a couple minutes wipe clean. You might want to use a little water to help remove the stickiness of the cola.

2. Or mix a solution of baking soda and water, pour on corrosion. Wait couple minutes, wipe clean.

3. Take a steel wool brush, gently across the terminals and corroded areas. Wipe clean

first use baking soda and a little water, then take a wire brush and get all the corrosion off and put some battery preserver stuff that you can get at Auto Zone or any parts place. You should have done this more often so the battery will last longer. Good luck let me know if it works

The coca cola will work to help remove corrosion, but I believe these wires are to corroded to transfer a charge. you should replace them. if you have some tools, you can do it. remove the negative terminal off battery first. you have 2 cables, 1 to starter and 1 to engine. if only 1 corroded replace that first. most auto shops have a preventative spray you can coat the terminals with to protect them.

A steel wire bush or they have battery terminal cleaner tools you can buy, they also have some battery terminal silicon gel, that you rub on the terminals after they have been cleaned that is suppose to stop the terminal from getting corrosion on them.

use a wire brush to clean it off. then go to a parts store to get battery terminal grease. put that stuff on the terminals and posts.. the corrosion will not return as long as the grease is on there. it works. i do it on all of my vehicles.
