Go to uni for 3 years and only return home for Christmas. Make sure you are sociable and make an effort with everyone.

Get jobs during your summer break. Will work your confidence wonders.

The reason why you probably lack confidence is because your life mould - i.e. what is comfortable and routine - has remained the same and you are not bringing yourself into new and different social situations on a regular enough basis.

I bet you are under the age of 24 and still living with your parents right? I think its time to move out...

Make a list of all the good qualities, You wil probably surprise yourself by how many good qualities you have. bla bla bla
I;m not sure actually, this isnt the way a dhose to work on myself....
At the beginning for me which was june last year, after I had been really badly hurt by someone whom i thought was my best friend, I was so changed I'd had every last bit of confidence and trust trampled on I couldn't handle anything, and in a way I sort of just fell to bits one day, kinda lost iit, after talking things through with my husband and then my sister in law (who's a counsellor) She put me in touch with a friend of hers ....
And so I started counselling, its been a long and turbulent journey at time so hard, but so worth it,
My life is now so different and so much better, I have developed myself enormously, and am now so much happier than i've ever been
Its not easy working on yourseelf but worth it, You're worth it, I wish you lots of luck

Paul Mckenna's deep relaxation c.d's are supposed to combat stress and make u feel more reassured which i guess will make u automatically more laid back and as a result confident about life! They were giving this c.d away in a British newspaper recently, so watch out for it otherwise try ordering it online!

Also try some breathing exercises, yoga etc

Taking good care of your mind and your soul, not being afraid to give and share, and not being afraid to ask for what you need; accept victory and defeat as a part of learning process;accept whatever comes along freely and above all, accept yourself as your best friend.

The best method I have ever heard of is knowing your strengths and weaknesses, and focusing on your strengths.

First and foremost is to accept yourself for who you are, change the things you can and strive for the better if not the best.
