Why are liberals whining now that they are getting all they wanted?
Your question just proves that no matter what Bush does, your blind drunken hate will whine about it.

He had a rubber stamp congress and a blank checkbook, why would he want to say anything before the election. He is doing it now though since he knows that the mess he has made can not possibly be paid for by 2012. If the democrats don't balance the budget by then they are suppose to look bad, he is also calling to extend or make permanent his tax cuts to the very rich which would be another block for them to overcome. I am sure that Bush his self did not come up with this plan to make the democrats look bad, it has the smell of Karl Rove all over it.

The reason for this is Bush never thought the GOP was going to lose power, so why should he worry right? But it also shows how clueless he is, and how he indeed does live in a separate reality. Had he had the common sense to listen to and work with the dems, there is a good chance the GOP would have retained there edge in Congress.

because it was common knowledge that taxes were going to have to be raised, if anyone had the sense to listen to the GAO chief during his speech to all of congress, on cspan.
This way, Bush can get the job done, and let the democrats take the blame like they always do, for raising taxes to pay off a republican's debt.

While the Congress was under Republican rule, he had free reign to run up the federal debt as high as he wanted and pushed through ridiculously high priced wish list items. Now that the democrats took over, he wants to handicap them with restrictions to minimize their agenda and force them to raise taxes to pay for the GOP drunken unvetoed spending addictions. (Democrats are pushing for balanced budget anyway under their own terms.)
