I award best answer within the first 8-10 hours of posting a question. If I award best answer, I receive 3 points, but if I let the voters vote I don't get any points.

When I get a great or perfect answer, I award it right away. But, sometimes I don't get the information I want, and in the process of waiting and hoping for it, time runs out and the voters decide.

almost every question i pick a best answer, there are a few that i miss because im busy and some i honestly cant decide on those are the only reasons i let the voters have them

I always choose my own Best Answers, usually by the end of the 2nd day. If people take the time to submit an answer, I should take the time to choose the Best Answer. Voting can take weeks and weeks to resolve. For some reason I find it rude when askers let their questions go to voting.

its up to you. you're the asker, what you think is the best answer. some of the voters might have different opinions, or just vote crazily. you choose whichever one you think answers your question the best. I award best answers every single time i ask a question.

always...the only time i havent voted for a best answer is when i asked a question and then i got rushed into the hosptial, so i couldnt vote for it. what would be the point of asking the question if you didnt choose, and all those people took the time to answer, you should make one of their days by giving them best answer lol...

i try and award my own questions all the time. other than that i do when i run out of getting to answer questions
