lol... As per that one answer... I don't see how disliking emo kids is racist...
Anyhoo, I'm sure you're a nice person, honestly, that's not why I have a problem with emo kids. I don't like thme because the emo trend has turned complaining about imaginary problems in favor of ignoring those that have real problems into a veritable art form. (Read my question entitled "My best friend..." If you don't get my meaning.)
I'm not saying you do that, but as a whole (yes, I am making a generalization, and yes it is a stereotype, but most stereotypes are created because of a general truth) emo kids tend to complain and seek attention.
True, it may not be fair, but if you don't want the stereotype don't be emo; or if you don't want to change it's just something you're going to have to get used to.
As for me, I'm a metalhead and what angers me is when the emo kids come to our shows and ***** about the music. In my opinion, emo music is all the same, has no real meaning except for the sole purpose of selling records. When it comes down to it, the music played on MTV and VH1 (hehe, although I do love that network for it's shows..) is just a collaboration of people trying to make money.
Another reason I don't like emo kids is because I have had a lot of hardships in my life. I have lost many family members, most in the same year, and I suffer from a genetic disease called Lupus. Life is short, and yes, I may have gotten a shitty deal, but I won't get anywhere by complaining. It bothers me that most emo kids have no real problems and complain when people like me, and those worse off do. I know a young man who was diagnosed with lukemia when he was 12. Name a complication, he had it. He is now finished with his chemo and he is one of the most delightful, happy-go-lucky people I have ever met.
I know I made a comment on one of your questions about your emoness, and I apologize if I made you feel bad; however, I am not going to retract my comment because it is true. You even say so on your 360.
Yes, we do tend to generalize based on looks. It's human nature. It's the first thing we notice and although many will not admit it, it's something we are all guilty of.
You probably thought I was a ***** because of that comment, right? lol. Don't worry, I'm brutally honest/blunt and I tend to come off that way. I've found that in most cases, people appreciate it, and it's one of the reasons I do have so many friends.
As I have noticed, most emo kids are not happy with who they are and (as I mentioned before) seek attention as an outlet or have conformed to this trend because they are unsure of who they are. Unless it's a band, I have yet to see a 20 year old emo.
If you don't fit those stereotypes and are a happy person with a true fondess for this emo fad, ignore the comments. If you do, think about what exactly the emo trend is doing and why people hate it so much. The typical emo kid makes people like me and that boy I mentioned, who do have real problems feel like less than what we are. It makes less of our hardships and focuses on the facade of "depression" that most emo kids hide behind.
Seriously, lol, read that question I mentioned, you'll understand better.

people make fun of emo because they are ignorants and they think we're just a bunch of depressed kids who cut ourselves, which is pointed out as 'weak' in society. and also because 'oh, the cool kids make fun of emos, and so am i' which is Dumb! nobody can undersand us exept for ourselves
