Although I do have Pakistani ancestry I do not feel at all Asian, not even a little bit. Therefore I'd like to be called British as that is what I am.

I think you just split your question and it caused confusion ;)
China has the highest population in Asia, so technically you are correct.. most people in the world are Chinese... but they still live in China. When classing by continent they would be referred to as Asian.
Same with India and Pakistan.
Personally.. I like it when the generations of immigrant Asians say they are English, Welsh, Scottish etc. That I respect quite a lot. It doesn't mean you have to ignore your ancestory though, you should still be proud of your family background as well as being proud of where you are born.

People from Far Eastern Asia bearing the name 'Asian' with pride is what I can tell you. I don't think British Asian should have any problem with that. But, DO NOT CONFUSE ASIANS, LOCAL OR FOREIGN, WITH COMMUNIST CHINESE. It's blatantly an insult.

You have a simple problem --- Europeans come from in Europe African come from Africa, Asians come from Asia.....
Where do you come from? if Europe then you are registered on your birth certificate in Europe and your ID and details are European. If people would stand at the boarder and say Asian one side ... Europeans one side ..... isnt you will use your passport to prove that you come from Europe that is your official status. May be what is the only confusion is your decendency....your parents came from Asia .... your parents are Asians but not you (only your physical traits are Asian)

I am sorry you are from some other ethnic group not being European or Asian. If you are white then your ethnic group is European, If you are black then probably Afro, if you have slant eyes then probably Asian and if a light Chocolate color Indian, or Indo-asian.
I guess that that means you are possibly green, is that Martian?

despite the fact i dont often reply to stupid questions i dont mind releiving you of your role as the pinnacle of stupidity. Firstly the fact that you would take offence to being called european when you are means that you clearly cant grasp the the difference between chink and chinese, paki and pakistan and frogs instead of french. The very idea that you would make such a bold statement that most people are chinese is just..... forget it!
