In Lord of the Flies why does William Golding use symbolism?

He creates somekind of metaphore conserning the human being in its natural state, with no laws or government. He uses symbolism with the kids being at its prime age, pre adolesence, he aso used the character of piggy to create an even more level of innocence, therefore the innocence of people in society. Its basically a novel placed in such a scope that its talks about the human being living in its natural state of living. He uses the thoughts of many philosophers in the Enlightenment, such as Thomas Hobbes, or John Locke.
