Air Conditioning is always nice but Conditioned Air (Ceiling Fans) works just as well in Negril.

Yes you can, but be careful. Negril is the most affordable resort town in Jamaica because a lot of homeowners have turned their properties into bed & breakfast. (That's why its the Springbreak Capital). What that means is that the rates are much cheaper than the hotels but the service is what you pay for. It's good to have A/C as an option, but Negril is right on the sea and it's pretty cool there. Remember though, that its the tropics so its better to have it and not use it than to need it and ...

I personally have to have my air conditioning! It is hot and humid all year round but there is a slight breeze off the ocean. If you do go without A/C - make sure the windows have screens!!! The mosquitos are bad in Negril, especially at night. You will get eaten alive!!

I was in Negril in May back in the late eighties, and we stayed in a small motel on the beach that had no A/C and had no problem at all sleeping. There is usually a nice breeze to keep things a little cooler than it otherwise might be.

Yes you can sleep very comfortably without the air conditioning. That particular section of the island is usually cooler than Kingston so you should be fine.

Yes it is possible as the hurricane season starts in May and around that time it is usually warm - not hot as in the summer- because of all the raining. And even if it is hot in Jamaica, the trees are always swaying in the wind and that provides natural air conditioning.

It is not as humid in Jamaica as it is here; however, when I went to Jamaica I appreciated the air conditioning in our room, as the rest of the resort was "open air"....I went in July, and wouldn't have wanted to attempt sleeping without the a/c. Have fun!
