I'm going to be different and say no he's not.
Transvestites are almost universally straight men who just get kicks out of wearing ladies clothes.
Many guys like transexuals because they like the idea of a woman who has been a man and therefore knows what pleasures a man likes.

A gay or queer man (both terms meaning 'homosexual' in your usage, I assume) is one who likes men, and solely men. Now, what about the men who get specifically turned on by pre-op transsexuals (we prefer that term over 'tranny', which has negative connotations)? Are they gay? Nope. I wish I could teach the world- if you are a man and you like MEN, then you are gay. That means somebody who appears to be a man throughout- face, body, clothing, everything. A 'tranny' is not a man, we can all agree, but something different, in the middle, and if somebody likes them, it's hard to say what they are.
Can you really call a man gay if he likes penises, but only on women? That certainly doesn't fit my definition of being gay. As it is right now, there's no real term in our society for people who like gender-benders, except the ubiquitous 'queer', but like I said, the person attracted to them is probably not gay. I mean, there's a reason why 'tranny' porn is a booming market- and it's all going to straight men, not gay ones, you know?
My overall point: no, don't worry about your friend. He knows what he likes, and it isn't men, so he isn't gay, and as far as his desires say, he seems more straight than anything else, until our language evolves to describe his desires more accurately.
Hope that made sense!

WELL...You don't turn queer, you are either gay or you aren't, some people just take longer to admit iot to themselves. However, your friend who sounds like he is having healthy sexual desires doesn't sound totally gay. I am straight and have no issues with my own sexuality but do admit that I like to watch that sort of thing. Basically I don;t think your friends gay.
Be a good friend though and dont abandon your friend

Why do you question your friends sexuality?
Do you make it a point to "know" all of your friends, neighbors, and relatives sexuality?
What gives you the right to think that you should know what turns another person on?.... and what gets them off?
Just who do you think you are MR?
What are ya, some kind of PERVERT QUEER ?

The more we progress the more we regress. 2007 and some contributors still have no qualms about using such an insulting, insensitive and derogatory word such as "queer". Shame on you all.

No i honestly doubt that, i have a freind who at one point was confused about his sexuality. He either overcompensated by bragging too much about girls he has been with or was desperate to tell people. Your friend may simply be exploring the boundries of his sexuality, so worry not, because like most things this stage will pass.
