If you have an opportunity to get one, yes, it is worth it. They have a huge selection of games coming out, as well as already out. The graphics are much better then either the 360 or Wii. The gameplay so far is easy and fun. Better then the 360, but not as fun as the Wii. Sadly, the Wii has a better controller. But, the PS3 is the best. I am personally saving for one. But, at the same time, I am saving for a Wii. I personally don't like the 360 though. So yes, wait for it.

I have been loyal to Sony since the ps1, i have had no problems with any of their consoles. However, with the PS3 i have had to rethink my decision. Obviously it is hard to make a referenced decision as I haven't played on a PS3, but I have (had) been researching the PS3 from the moment it was first announced.
Basically, unless you are really bothered about blu-ray (which im not sure is really a big benefit due to the 360 getting most games and the PS3 only receiving ports) I would recommend the 360. I got one for xmas and can safely say I was pleasantly surprised. After years of being a sony person, I had built the 360 up to be an evil machine.. how wrong was I. The Live is the best bit, and i can guarantee that the PS3 Network will not be as easy to setup as the Live.
In light of the high price and so far dodgy frame rates on the ps3, i am going to have to say, dont wait for the ps3, you will be disappointed, plus Gears of War is cool :D

No.
If you only care about super-realistic graphics which ruin a game anyway then get an Xbox 360 which is at least a respectable console and almost as powerful - the difference will be barely noticeable.
Sony are possibly the worst company in existence (I loved my PS1 but PS2 and everything else they've ever done has been a monstrosity) and are totally trying to rip you off (especially if you're British). Not only does the console cost an absurd amount of money the games are apparently £70 each and you have to register them to play, therefore you cannot re-sell them, or even swap with a friend.
The console is badly made and has nothing interesting that contributes to enhancing your GAMING experience.

I don't know where your from but here in houston they cost 600 dollars. If you have that kind of money and you really want it then go for it. You know at Target store they get a shipment in everynight. They never know whats going to be on that shipment so no one knows ahead of time if they will be there. If you live near a target go at 8:00 every morning for a couple of weeks. I'll bet you'll get one. I work at a target and it has happened more than a few times. No one knows when the will be in so we will have them almost all day. no one waits out side any more because they never know when the shipment wll be in!

i dont think it is worth waiting for because it is too expensive. if ur the person who likes HD graphics and need a blue-ray DVD player, then it is worth it. if not, then dont get it.
A Blue-Ray DVD player is for HD-TVs and is used with BLue-Ray DVDs. these DVDs are in High-Definition.
