The weather goes in cycles, in 1932 it was in the 70s in NYC for a few days in January also. No, the world isn't coming to an end.

the El Nino weather pattern caused by warm conditions in the Pacific have caused the jet stream to assume an unusual path over the US, which is driving cold snowy conditions into the southwest and leaving the northeast in a spring-like state. El Nino is a cyclical phenomenon, however, and the degree to which we're seeing the effects are not like anything we've observed in the lifetime of anyone alive today. So in light of the very unique and sudden weather trends of the past several years, coupled with our knowledge of atmospheric chemistry, I would have to agree that human influence on the environment is a very likely suspect.

el nino is the water current off the pacific ocean, brings cold nasty weather to the west coast and warm weather to the mid atlantic and eastern coast.

It also has to do with the jet stream and global warming.
