Now I havent tried this myself as havent had a range problem personally, but more than one guy I work with ( and computers internet and networking is what we do ) has said try taking a pringles potato chip can ( one of the smaller ones so it will fit ) and putting it upside down over the built in antenna on your wireless router.
Thats of course if your Belkin has a built in antenna I know a few of them that dont even have an antenna.

You can search the net for plans to make the antenna or you can purchase a 'wireless access point repeater' which for the cost is the way I would go. There are many manufacturers and I've seen prices as low as 40 bucks.
