I think all sports a equally demanding. You can't say one sport is less demanding than another. Every sport requires dedication and perseverance. I play soccer so I think that sport is very demanding. You run over 6 miles a game if you play mid. But who am I to say football is not equally demanding? I've never played but those guys work hard. But do they work harder then Baseball players? I don't know have you ever tried to hit a 95 mile per hour ball that looks like it's coming at your face? And what about golf? I don't know about you but I've never hit a hole in one. i assume being able to hit a hole in one takes a lot of practice...more practice then maybe any other sport. Practice is demanding. And boxing? I don't think I could go, what 9 solid rounds and not pass out. Hockey is very demanding as well. You have to stay on your skates control a puck while others are trying to hit you. It's also the fastest sport in the world.

Each sport is equally demanding in it's own unique way and I don't think you can say one is harder than another unless you have played each at the college or pro level

PS: sorry if i left your sport out.

I think wrestling is it. And I have several reasons for this:

1. It's one on one contact for at least 3 periods if you don't get pinned.
2. You have to be in good shape the entire winter
3. You have to make weight every week (mental aspect)
4. It's a long season
5. Injuries are almost guaranteed
6. You have to be very disciplined
7. This is a sport that is not a "glory" sport like football

If You consider F1 as a sport than its is very very demanding. Infact the drivers have fitness levels in excess of Jet pilots. Over the course of 1.5 hours a F1 driver loses over 3 kilos in body weight.
But if you are looking at sheer fitness levels in a sport, I would say it is badminton. A shuttle travels at over 250 miles/ Hr when hit hard and it requires some of the best fitness levels of all times to compete at the highest level.

Looking at the answers already given, I would have to agree with Triathalon.

Of the mainstream sports, my vote goes to hockey. You have to have speed, strength and agility to excel in hockey. You have to have the skill to shoot and pass the puck with pinpoint accuracy. You have to be able to take a hit. Oh yeah, and you have to be able to do all that while skating on ice. Don't even get me started on the goalies! All they have to do on their skates is carry about 25 pounds of equipment, stay on their feet for roughly 40 minutes at a time and have the agility and flexibility to protect their net from the hard rubber that gets fired at them at 100 mph.

Professional Bike riding. You must push your body at a high level for hours on end (as opposed to just a few minutes for wrestling) with only breaks for urinating (if you want to). And the breaks have to be as short as possible.

horse riding you cannot beat it, on top of continuous physical workout will you ride you also have a horse to look after not only does it drain your money suppliesbut it also drains you physiclly and mentally. and it causes alot of stress and demands alot of patients as well. it is also one of the worlds most compeitive sports! and no matter what you do most riders end up with back problems! But we love it beause we have a passion for it and love our horses :D
