In the recovery room after my c-section, granted I was heavily medicated, I remember about 4 nurses turning me onto each side and pressing on my stomach. It was extremely painful, and I was yelling at them to stop, but they kept saying it would be over soon. What were they doing? Did anyone else experience this or something similar?

I just want to say that sonya is a b****!!!! I had to have a c-section with my son because the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck and he almost died!!!!! So screw you buddy!!! You need to stay off these ???? when you don't even know what your talking about!!!! Not all women have a choice!!!!.. Sure we would've liked to have it vaginally, but unfortunatly for some, it is not an option!!!

Ok now to the ????? the reason they were doing that is to help your uterus return to normal size... if it don't it can lead to a very serious problem..... and yes it does hurt... it almost made me want to cry.. and they even had me continue doing it myself..... that was hard to do!!!!! I think they should have explained all that to you before they did anything..... It would've been less frightening, and you probably would've been able to handle it better!!!! Congrats on your baby though!!!!

During my c-section (after delivery and such though) they tilted me to each side while they massaged my uterus. It causes it to contract faster and usually means less bleeding postpartum and less "after birth" pains actually. My question is how you felt it though, I couldn't feel ANYTHING they did to my bottom half for over 6 hours and I was only in the recovery room for like 45 mintues. All they did in recovery was check my blood pressure and things and they got my incision bandaged.

After your deliver, vaginally or not, your uterus clamps right down to control bleeding and shrink back to it's regular size... the nurses come over and feel that it's hard and contracted. If you're a little heavier they may have to push a bit harder to do this. It's necessary though...if your'e not clamped down then you could bleed out.
