I doesn't do it all the time, but I would say it flickers half the time it is on. I thought it was a power issue, but it will do it both when it's plugged in or running off battery. Gateway told me to try restoring to an earlier date, but each time I try, it is unsuccessful.

it may be a connection issue which is also a power issue i suggest getting it taken to a pc repair shop and they can make sure all of your pinn connections are aligned and properly working. it would make sense that is only flikers a little bit because if it is a weak connection it may be able to transfer power better sometimes then others. also if it was a hardware issue then the pc would not be able to pick-up where is was when it flickered

Let's rule out the simple problems. Try increasing the display's refresh rate. Oftentimes, when the refresh rate is too slow, you will notice the display flicker. It is easy to adjust the refresh rate: go to Start Menu > Control Panel > Display > Settings > [Advance] > click "Monitor" tab > increase the refresh rate (i.e. anything above 72 hertz) > [O.K.] > Reboot.

My laptop does the same thing. The power plug did it to me. The plug part that you plug in to the laptop is what does it. Get a new plug, or get the laptop fixed. I hope I could help.

It's probably the cabling going into the screen from the mobo.
