I discovered several years ago that if I leave for anything about 15 minutes early, I eliminate a lot of stress. If you start your day in a rush, you'll be stressed all day. I suggest you start your day with about 15 minutes of complete silence. Meditate or just sit quietly for 10-15 minutes and have a leisurely cup of coffee or tea etc. You are creating a stressful environment for yourself by not giving yourself enough time in the morning to get it togeather. Start the day in peace, not turmoil. How much will your life suffer with 15 minutes less sleep? If you do not get enough sleep, go to bed earlier. Don't drink alcohol or exercise within 2 hours of bedtime.

Its easy to get stressed out and feel worn out by the things you describe so its important to be prepared so that these things dont start to get you down and take away you happiness at all the little things in life...and a good way to do that is to choose what you focus on. Instead of thinking about the traffic....focus on your own little world inside your car.
Man i look forward to my commute into work i love it - because its me time - i don't have to talk to any one i can just sit and think and be on my own and let my mind wander and daydream do what ever.
I feel rested and calm when i arrive for work. Traffic or no traffic.
There is a lot you can do while you're in traffic:
Fun music in the car takes the edge off.
I had a friend who tried learning a new language in the car by listening to language Cd's/Tapes.
Spend the time thinking about surprising your girlfriend/boyfriend with something nice. - Just thinking about their reaction is enough to put a smile on any ones face.
Generally speaking stop focusing on the road rage and start thinking about what you can do for someone else - will make you much happier and peaceful.
Also on a very practical level it may sound harsh but its only practical maybe you should get up earlier..the stress of being late isnt worth the extra 20 minutes in bed. It may be hard the first few days but you'll probably miss some of that traffic by getting into work earlier.

First of all eat breakfast, second get some good singing tunes for the car ( I prefer Aretha Franklin) and when you are stuck in traffic focus on singing, think about how good you feel and look, think about life and all that is has given you. You have a job, you have a car, you have a boss, because where would you be without a job or a car or a boss. At home eating donuts and watching Jerry Springer. So stop being negative and start thinking positive.

Mood..!!!! An involuntary and absolutely incessant feeling within ... This feeling is inexplicable and under the circumstances when we are off to work and nothing is working fine.. the mood tends to lose its high spirit....
The best way to avoid such uninvited taste of the morning is " NOT TO THINK ABOUT ANYTHING FOR THE DAY "...
We humans ..we tend to presume and pre-judge even when it is not required or may lead to a wrong judgement..
Everytime we think and think and think ... When do we actually lead life... Why are we working ... Why do we plan things .. Why do we get focussed and dedicated.. Just to lead life in a proper way and have a nice sailing...
So when you wake up in the morning dont think about the day.. Just do what you are supposed to.. Leave the rest on time.. Dont think that this would happen and that won't just go on doing what you would have done(profile for any given day) ...
And Lastly if these don't work out I think when your mind is not functioning the best thing to do is to have some sweet words with your loved ones which would give some cooling if not inspiration... And you might fine yourself to pass through the working hours of the day...
The best way to strive through any rugged situation is to think or look forward to something .. may not be professional ... which would make you happy......

Thinking is believing my friend. It's your mood and you are the real owner of it. If you say you can not control your mood then it's a problem not an achievement. If you really think it's a problem then there has to be a solution for it. And the solution is you. :)

I used to feel great no matter what when i worked out before work every day. Now i start work at the ungodly hour of 0630, and dont have time to work out before work, so i'm miserable every day.
