The question is How does J.B.Priestly create mystery and tension around the charactor Inspector Goole i know what im going to write i just always have trouble starting my essey lol help its for Tomorrow morning!!! lol

Inspector Goole, the famous antagonist in J B Priestly's An Inspector Calls . . . bursts upon the Birling family as they are in the midst of celebrating ...... Priestly quickly builds up an air of tension as the mysterious Inspector Goole....' or something like that. S'pect you've written it by now, sorry, only just seen your question.

Ps, I mean 'the famous PROtagonist.....'!!! of course.

It always helps to start by talking a little bit about the actual question- at A Level I was told to talk about the actual question in the introduction, albeit briefly.

If I were you, I'd start by defining mystery and tension, and then talk about the character- Inspector Goole through two or three sentences, before going onto the actual essay.

I used to be like this, all essays were hell for me because of the whole starting sentences, but once you get given a general idea for what you're meant to do, you can apply it to anything you do. It'll help a lot in future, and not just with this essay. Hope I helped. =)

Look at Inspector Goole's character and make notes how you think he appears mysterious. His entrance? His lines? His clothing? Look at all the aspects and then paragraph them explains what you think J B Priestly wanted you to think!

I always start my work in the middle. I write what I want say then go back at the end and write the introduction by introducing the scene (sometimes I write In this essay I will..... ) I then make sure it flows with the rest.

Got my results back for this c/w yesterday, all i can say is write what you can about J.B.Priestley and the style of the book as an intro then go onto what effects the inspector has on characters
