Yes... Once Melo starts playing again JR will find himself on the pine a lot more. There is only one basketball and we know who will be shooting it. Smith offers little else so the Nuggets will likely reduce his PT in favor of a better defensive player. Pietrus is not spectacular but is a solid contributor in most areas and will be the better option. Plus with the injuries he will get more minutes as the season moves along.

I would take Pietrus. JR Smith might give a few more good games because Melo is still out. He was doing really well with just Melo there, but with two scorers, he will get nowhere near as many points. He will still be able to get in some three balls, maybe 1 more a game than Pietrus on average, but that may be the only place (well, maybe FG% and FT%, not sure) where Smith will consistently beat Pietrus for now. When Melo and Anthony are both there, even the 3 ball won't be there anymore.
I say keep JR Smith for a couple more games, and pick up Pietrus. Although you may not want to do that just in case someone picks up Peitrus before you get the chance.

Hold off because JR Smith can still put up numbers look at the Suns they have three consistent scorers, so do the Spurs, Dallas has Howard, Dirk, and either Terry or Dampier, so why can't JR Smith score, hold off b/c players like Pietrus are a dime a dozen, (Childress, Roy,Patterson Marvin Williams, Magette,Pietrus, Barnes, Foye, and Mo. Peterson) and I bet at least one of these guys are available and in every league

Pietrus is more of filling the stat as to JR making the highlights. On good night you will get points from JR and that's it. With the big three of Al, Melo(when he is back) and Camby, JR is just there to fill the spot.

sure!!!! Brooks is the Starter PG for the Rockets, and performed a superb sport today (19 factors, 6 rebounds, 8 assists). JR Smith will be inconsistent as long as Carmelo Anthony is taking area in nicely. in case you may take care of his abnormal inconsistency then keep him, i am going to easily shrink him and get Brooks (with a good number of upside). very last suggestion, once you've someone worse than JR Smith, evaluate dropping that human being instead.
