It isn't true for me. I actually dread having to go shopping. I have hobbies such as, hiking, camping, and canoeing pretty much anything outdoors.

I enjoy shopping but that is not a hobby. I love to put together puzzles so my husband can frame them for me. And I do plastic canvas creations. But I do not have time to do more hobbies because I have to take care of my family and having 4 boys and 1 girl takes a lot of time. Men have more hobbies because most of them are not tied to the home. No I did not mean that in a bad way. I guess with as many kids as I have you could say love making is the best hobby me and my husband have!

Different people have different hobbies and it isn't necessarily a gender thing. There are woman that like to fish, hunt, etc. just as much as men, while there are also men who enjoy shopping.
Shopping is not the only hobby women have. It just depends on the woman! There are plenty of other things like tennis, golf, scrapbooking, etc.

Although shopping is a favorite of many women, we have lots of other hobbies. For example I like to golf, play tennis, and watch sports and I know plenty of women like me. We usually don't make our hobbies as obvious and do our favorite things more often.

Plenty of women do more then shop, infact some of my friends hate shopping. There several things we like to do cook, read, play hockey, soccer, tennis, volleyball, swim basketball, we even get together and play football. We like the same things guys do it just depends on what the person's interest are.

I'm a woman and I can't stand shopping. I'm married to a man who I'd consider a shop-aholic. And no he's not metro, a real manly man, who just likes to comparison shop for gadgets relating to his many *expensive* hobbies. I make homemade cards, play a musical instrument, read and write for fun...

I hate shopping for anything, including groceries. There are a lot of women who have hobbies: they ski, play golf, hockey, swim, and volunteer.

You're actually VERY wrong. Women have plenty of hobbies, and just 'cause they're not football or fishing, doesn't mean they're not hobbies. We have very different hobbies than men, and maybe that's why you don't think we have any.

maybe only the women you seem to know. I happen to enjoy various things and beleive it or not...I hate to shop because it seems to put a dent on my bank account. I actually like working on the stocks or money markets to SAVE.
Maybe you need to just talk to other women.
