I am part of a group called the Mr. and Mrs. Club. The age group is anywhere between 30- 80 years old. We need some ideas on activities that would be fun. We usually have dinners, go bowling, pool parties, dinner theaters, and stuff like that. I don't know if it matters, but we live in NY on long island. Any ideas would be great- thanks!

You could go to a billiards place. In the places I've been there are usually dart boards available as well and food and drink. Sometimes there's a band playing.

You could all go on a neighborhood inspection, checking out the various bars, museums, restaurants or other attractions a particular neighborhood has to offer.

If you want to be more lively, you could go ballroom, swing or latin dancing. Down here, most venues offer some beginner lessons (often for about 5 bucks extra) just before the floor opens up.

For more ideas, you might check out meetin.org. Even if you don't sign up for any of the activities, you could 'steal' some of the ideas people come up with. :)

If you want to go outside (hikes, wander around the City, etc..), consider geocaching.

It is a sport that uses cheap ($40 to $100) gps units to find small caches (hidden 'treasures') that are already in place around almost every City in the US and also globally. For example in the San Francisco Bay area there are likely close to 4 or 5000 hiddent caches. The Caches are constantly being placed or renewed by the players themselves and the level of difficulty for the caches is identified before you decide to hunt. Many are on City streets so people with mobility problems might be able to do those.

Its actually quite fun if you like a mixture of adventure and hiking. And if you loved Treasure Island as a kid you will go nuts.

Once you have a gps (not the kind in cars, but rather basic units) you have everything you need. (Aside from the appropriate shoes and clothes there are not other costs involved.)

so.. if I have tweaked your imagination, you can learn more at the geocaching source I referenced or drop me a quick note at yahoo and I will explain it further.

It is not really an outing but you could play board games. Surf the internet and they will have a lot of good things.
