I have plenty of friends who pierced their ears. As long as you clean the hole everyday with hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol you should be okay. If it starts to get red and itchy take out the stud and continue cleaning it.

You should be just fine leave the stud in and make sure that you keep the pierced area clean. Clean it once a day in the shower with antibacterial soap and if it gets infected just use epsom salt to clean it and you will be fine, but on the other hand if you didn't use a hollow needle and you blow out the cartillage then you will have a better chance of getting infected. Next time just wait and get it pierced by a professional then you don't have to worry about it.

Leave it in for about 6 weeks before you change it.
Rotate the studs and clean around them twice a day.
It's quite normal to get an ear infection even if you don't pierce it yourself

its not always that when you piecre anything yourself that its going to get infected..
you just ALWAYS have to make sure that what you are using to pierce it is comepletley cleaned.. i cant stress that enough
because if its not clean it will have a 100 percent chance of getting infected and you should just keep cleaning it
dont take it out
and when you clean it turn the stud
you should do that two times a day

theres a 80% chance of it getting infected but since you sterilized everything i think there would be only 20 % chance of no-infection.......i think...

If you take the stud out, it will probably close up immediately.
