I was an appraiser for a number of years and have learned that when the attachment points for the suspension members are altered, it effects the car's ride.
Most often, the length is shortened and the ride becomes more springy and rough. It sounds like you have the opposite problem, as you said it feels floaty and less defined.
You said you had all 4 wheels aligned, but making all four wheels go in the same direction doesn't resolve a problem with the unit structure of your car being changed after you put your car in a ditch.
If the unit structure of your car was damaged and the attachment points for the various suspension parts were altered, the ride will definitely be different.
If you want to have this checked, it'll cost you between 120 and 160 dollars depending on the hourly rate of the frame shop. It's a "setup and measure" of 2 hours labor you're looking at.
I just had the frame of my son's Jaguar pulled at a cost of $350, the whole front end was pulled to the right. Now it's perfect.
Good luck.

This is completely normal. To make the ride softer the shocks and springs work against each other, making the ride a little bouncy at times. The rapid change from a dip in the road makes your vehicle sink, so when you come back up you feel almost like you have airtime, when all the while all 4 wheels are still touching and the suspension is just working to keep the ride smooth.

Take it back where you had the work done. Tell them "My car has a floating affect while hitting dips in the road going 50-60mph" and ask them to fix it correctly.

Shocks. That is what causes the floating. If they replaced one, have them replace the other. They should be replaced in pairs, anyway.

Possibly lost its damping on one or more shocks , lost their oil, you can tell by pushing on each corner of car,it shoud react nice and smooth both down the stroke and back up,if it bounces like Zebedee the dampers are likely worn out/damaged still.IMO.
