You should have told us the problems you are facing so that we could try and help, because we cannot advise you without enough knowledge of what bothered you and caused you to want separate recognition. Probably --- both white and black people segregate against you and leave you unassociated? If that is the case then the main problem is with the racism problem between the blacks and the white as they still seek separate identity; (assuming this is your situation). Anywhere I still find it questionable why the Governments document still insists on race when filling forms? Maybe that is where you point is, since when a child is born between a white and a black parent is considered black? This is a historical fact my dear, try to work towards a system where segregation by race, gender, religion, cult or language will be diminished, even if your society is not promising; you would have done a great contribution to humankind.

Strange, you are joking right, like gingers should start their own races, or blonde's or people with longer legs then average. At the end of it we are all just human, that's the only race we need. Don't care where you come from, who you daddy or mom was you're still a human. Leave it at that, love yourself and those around you and may be we can make a better world rather then divide ourselves up into ever smaller fragments.

What ever the color of your skin, white, pink, yellow, brown, black, you're still my brother and sister, cause we live on the same planet and want, fear and hope for the same things.

Take care and try to love.

Maybe you should learn to accept yourself for what you truly are a black woman, because it doesn't matter how light you are, you're still consider African American. You should be proud of your heritage and not try to conform to society's standards of beauty or perfection. Black people come in all shades with different eye colors from Alicia Keys to Mariah Carey to Halle Berry to Venus Williams. Even though I' am a light skinned woman, I know I' am black and proud of it. Statements like this reinforce negative stereotypes and racism, like it or not WE ARE ALL part of the human race and share the planet. FYI: Mulatto is being part Black. Love, respect, and value yourself.
The beautiful Halle Berry quoted," When I look in the mirror I see a strong black woman, it doesn't matter if my mother is white because I know who I' am."

this is the reason for why people dont like races mixing, no matter what u will be seen as black, i dont get it, black people had no choise to accept you guys we took you in and accepted you as our own and now u wanna run away from us. u need help. also light skinned cant form there own race, 2 dark skinned people ca have a light skinned baby and vice versa, why dont u go and try and be a white girl we dont need people like u in our race. do u not like us black people, are u ashamed, and also id u dont wanna be considered black then dont accomplish something and then say oh yes people of color can get things. u cant have it both ways, either one way of the other, and another thing dont come running back to us when some white person calls u a ***.ger seriously. and if nicole richie considers herself black i dont see why u cant, she is someone who can pass as white

Are you an idiot? I'm light skinned but I'm still black. Be proud of your heritage and stop sounding stupid and ignorant. You are black and will always be considered black so get over yourself. You disgust me with this pathetic statement. You think any white person is gonna look at you and say 'let me not be racist against her because she isn't black - she's mulatto'? Oh please - grow up child. I pity you.
