I am buying a diamond ring and and I was wanting to know if the measurements on this diamond are good. It is a 1 ct. round diamond and the measurements are 6.45-6.41by 3.95mm. If my calculations are correct this comes to 6.14mm. Is this a good diamond and what part does the measurements play in making a good diamond.

Sounds like a Carat to me. Give or take a few points...
But size is not the most important part of price. Color and clarity are more important. You should look at the stone under a 30X microscope, if it has a lot of flaws (feathery looking spots) it is not going to be as valuable as a diamond with very few flaws. Also color, if the diamond is a "d" or "e" color, they are more valuable than "g" don't buy below an "i" unless you really don't care about the color of your diamond.

I am not so sure measurments play a big part. I think the clarity and cut are what matter. I would take it into a jewler and ask for them to appraise it, usually aroung $5.

I don't know much about stones but I know enough to know that the most important things are the Four C's:
Cut, Color, Clarity and Carat
So, I would think, and other's who are more informed than I can concur, you will need to provide more information than what you have to get an accurate answer.

get 14 C it is much better quality
