I think a energy drink every once in a while is fine. Others will disagree!!! I am a Coca Cola addict. I admite to it. I drink over six a day. My doctors told me it was ok, as long as I drank just as much water, and juice and milk. So I did. I am 37 weeks with a healthy boy, and have already had two healthy girls. THis boy is now 7 lbs and still growing. Nothing is wrong. So I say, as long as you equal it with good stuff, go for it.

I know that it contains the same amount of caffiene as a cup of coffee and tons of sugar. It also has a lot of vitamens, which would be a good thing, I guess. But, there aren't that many studies on Red Bull and pregnancy. Trust me, I like the stuff too, but it is being banned in some areas of Europe, which made me think "forget about it." Overall, it is up to you what you want to consume while pregnant. The energy drinks are a little too new for me. Coffee has been around for years with no bans.

Actually it's a huge deal, because these types of drinks not only containe caffeine (and it's a huge amount), but it's the TYPE of caffeine which is the problem - it's from an odd source - sorry, I forget the name, but it starts with "g". It is dangerous to regular people, so why would you take the chance with your baby?
Most pregnant women lack energy at times, but just because you are supposedly past the usual miscarriage time it doesn't mean you can take liberties with restrictions. Get some exercise, it will brighten your outlook and energize you! Talk to your dr. or a nutritionist to find out which foods will help boost you!

From personal experience I dont think red bull had any effect on my daughter... I did not know I was pregnant and I was drinking 2-3 red bulls a day..Im sure it can have some kind of effect bc of so much caffine...but i really dont know.. at 17wks your going to feel tired no matter how much sleep or energy drinks you have..best of luck with your pregnancy.

yes it is a big deal. It causes your BP to rise, and the baby's heart rate to rise as well, this deprives its body and brain of oxygen, inhibiting the ability to grow until the caffiene is out of your system.

However, because caffiene is a toxin the baby also ends up with toxins in its body, and without a functional adrienal system it cannot readily flush it out.

On top of all that, caffiene keeps you from absorbing and metabolizing, and even depleats your system of b vitamins, calcium, and potassium, which means the baby has a harder time getting those vital things for its development.

So no. I dont think its okay. You do everything you can while pregnant to put the child first.

if you're groggy and slow during the day its because you're pregnant and your system is already overwhelmed without taking away nutrients and adding toxins like caffiene.

Try eating healthy and taking a good b vitamin complex instead.

There are so many issues when it comes to caffeine and pregnancy, most say it is bad, why take the chance? There are other things you can do to try to raise your energy levels or perhaps you just need a lot of rest, that is part of pregnancy.

Would not drink those while pregnant. You may need an iron pill or B-12 shot -- check with doctor.

It's ok to have a few caffeine drinks just make sure you are drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated and keep the swelling down.

The can has a warning that states that pregnant women and nursing women shouldn't drink it so obviously the manufacturer is convinced that there's a risk. I wouldn't do it.
