Do not know the answer, but a Really good, smart, and reliable answer would come from your DOCTOR. When it comes to being pregnant, a person needs to be under the care of a doctor and should always seek a doctors advice especially if they are going to do something out of the ordinary such as getting tattoo's, piercings, and even starting new activities, the best rule to follow though is if in doubt than the answer should probably be no, and wait till after the child is born, I'm sure tats will still be available after you have given birth, oh and one more thing really important!!!! When you do decide to go, PLEASE Go to a PROFESSIONAL, licensed, tattoo artist/parlor, don't ever leave anything up to hear say, lots of luck and congratulations on your pregnancy.

Most tattoo artists wont tattoo you anyway... with the high amount of estrogen in your body your skin reacts differently and can scar quite easily and anybody with a tattoo will tell you that scarring over a tattoo is rotten news for the art! Also, when you are in pain you release Adrenalin and raise your blood pressure, for this reason most wont tattoo you either because this can distress the baby. If you handle your pain well and it's only a small tatto, some might do it... I don't know, you'd have to ask around. One big no no though, no tattoos on your lower back! Most anaesthesiologists wont risk puncturing it and pushing the ink into your spinal column.

A tattoo is NEVER safe to get no matter how early or far along in pregnancy you are. The ink is going straight into your bloodstream which then goes to your baby which can cause some problems. Some doctors even think it's just a bad idea to get your hair dyed or to be around the fumes from them

Like what everyone has said it is a fact, not just because you could get an infection but because the needle may not be sterile and you could get a disease. It is unlikely these day that the needle wouldn't be sterile But there is a chance. It's just a better idea to wait the ten months to get tattooed, instead of risking your little one.

This is not a myth or a fact it is true. if you have got a tatoo in the first 2 months of pregnancy then its ok but never get a tatoo in the months after the 3rd month because that is the month in which the foetus develops. the effects are:
your baby can get skin cancer
your baby can have dark or light spots all over the body
disability or paralysis

I believe that it is fact. You have a chance at an infection and the ink could be overwhelming for the baby. I would say play it safe and wait to get that tattoo until your little bundle is here.

Tattoos are allowing new bacteria into your body, even if you don't get a major infection from it, you are still introducing it into your bloodstream, which is what nourishes your baby. Your body is busy taking care of baby, it is not up for killing off that bacteria. Staph infection is actually a pretty significant cause of death, many strains are resistant to antibiotics, and you don't want to take them while pregnant unless it is unavoidable.

I wouldn't if I were you. Why would you unnecessarily risk getting an infection when you are pregnant? I'd wait until after the baby is born. (Possibly even until after you are done breast feeding.) BTW, don't get a tramp stamp. It can affect your chances of getting an epidural during birth.
