The process of being reinstated depends on the university. Some places you would have to reapply just as if you had never attended, in some you would be considered as a transfer student, and at some you have to do through a specific review to be readmitted.

I think giving readmission a shot is worthwhile. You have obviously working hard to not only continue your education but to get to the root issues of why it was difficult for you. I suspect the university would look favorably on someone who found out they had an undiagnosed learning disability, has taken steps to address it and is so committed to their education that they attended a community college, got an AA degree and WANTS to continue with a further degree.

You wont know the process until you contact the admissions department. GO FOR IT. Also - most universities have a support office for students with disabilities (ADD counts) and you might be able to get some additional support once you are readmitted.

I have a good friend who screwed up - got kicked out - spent a year at a branch college (local campus of the university) and then was readmitted to the university. Not only did he finish his BA... he went on to get his Masters and PhD and is now a Professor in the Deparment of Education at a different university.

The only limit is the limit you set on yourself! Good Luck!

Well, I'm glad you are on the right track now, that's what counts. So your grades are decent enough get get an AA from the community college. You have to assess how your feel about your old school and whether that's where you really want to go. I'd call the guidance office and tell them your situation and ask them about reinstatement procedures. They'll probably let you back in, but you'll probably be on probation and if you don't do well then that's it. Do you need to reassess your major. Maybe some of he graduation requirements for your major just aren't your cup of tea. Talk it all over with the school counselor. Good luck.

How should I know, you need to go ask the school this question.
