By charting your cycles you can see when you are ovultaing and so when you need to have intercourse to get pregnant. Don't waste money on ovulation kits as your bod will tell your for free when it is happening!

Take your temperature at the same time every morning when you wake up. It will rise slightly when you ovulate (12-26 days before your next period). Once released your egg remains vable for fertilisation for just 12-24 hours.

Also keep an eye on your mucus. It will become stretchly like egg white as you approach ovulation. Sperm can survive for up to 5 days in this most fertile mucus.

hen trying to conceive it is recommended that you have intercourse ever other day during the week before your temperature rises and for a day or two after.

There is a great book called 'Fertility, Cycles and Nutrition' by Marilyn Shannon (available from www.ccli.org/store) which contains excellent and specific advice about which supplements you can take when trying for a baby. Please only take supplements with professional guidance as you can overdose on certain vitamins.

If you are having problems concieving then a charity called LIFE UK runs an excellent and highly sucessful fertility awareness programme that you might want to consider too.

Good luck!

You should be taking a good pregnancy multivitamin, not just folic acid as there are many vitamins and minerals that play a part.
You should also get a good multi vit for your partner, that contains folic acid and zinc as these are proven to help the motility of sperm.
There are some good books out there about diet and conception. Try Patrick Holford's Optimum Nutrition Before During and After Pregnancy.
I've never heard of scampi being beneficial! Oysters, yes, because they contain lots of zinc, but so do eggs, nuts and seeds and lots of other foods.

Your best bet would be to go for timing rather than supplements. Other than making sure you're full of vitamins and I've heard that zinc is important for men to make his swimmers healthy and strong, i think its all down to the whole ovulation thing and trying to get lucky on the right day etc. Also try and stay lying down after sex or raise your buttocks a little to give his swimmers a hand in the right direction!!

Dont try to get pregnant, have sex whenever you feel the urge.

Its honestly the best way. Trying to get pregnant makes it impossible. Women and stress dont mix. Theyre like heifers that wont settle, no matter how old they get. I know thats a harsh comparison, but its true.

After more than a year of stressing and trying and hoping and wishing and hitting all the right days to get pregnant, i finally took my mom and grandmas advice. STOP TRYING.

I did, decided to work on some adult education courses, start a new career.. try for babies in a few years... lol. I got pregnant in one cycle, i was so convinced I wasnt pregnant that i went 2 months before taking a test.

I wish you luck on concieving. Both of my pregnancy's i used a calendar you keep track of your periods and from the first day of your period you count two weeks, and on the day before day of and day after that two weeks date have intercourse and just keep repeating every month until you get pregnant.

So if your periods come say on the 6 (Sat) of the month then on the 19th (Fri) 20th (Sat) and 21st (Sun) have intercourse

Good Luck

folic acid usually helps- the best time for a woman to conceive is 2weeks before she has her monthly period. Just keep your sex life active and you will get there. good luck
