most definitly the lyrics, they have meaning and artists generally record them through past experiences and almost always you have been there before so the song means something to you aswell as the artist

I think for me mostly the tune matters, but if the lyrics are rubbish then i will not listen to the song. I think of some rubbish songs that have a good tune, bad lyrics.

I think the lyric really matter, because without good lyrics the song is rubbish. Never mind the tune. Yeah, I have decided that just now.

Lyrics and Bass line, Tunes are for kiddies, listen toi the words and dance to the Bass. Especially If its a Proper Bass, like old Adge Cutler used to play with the Wurzels, Straight Sousaphone I think it were called, listen to the old Drink Up Thi Cider, thats proper music.

Vocals and music are the most important to me. I listen to several bands whose lyrics either make no sense to me or I disagree with completely, but the music is good, so that does it for me. However, if an artist has great lyrics, but horrible vocals or music, I just can't tolerate it.

well the lyrics are important to me because it explains the whole meaning of the song, although the tune is important too.

For me personally, it's the music itself. It's just what you are used to. I was a music theory major in college and have been playing symphonic music since fourth grade.

Here's what's more important to music though.
"Music without lyrics is still music
Music without a tune is just a poem.
And we aren't english major's, are we?"

personally, i cant have one without the other. I love Red Hot Chili Peppers' music, but absolutely hate their lyrics; therefore, i dont buy many of their albums. I love Ramallah's lyrics, but absolutely positively cannot stand their music.

SO, the bands i listen to are System of a Down, Audioslave, Black Sabbath, Slayer, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine...b/c i love both the music and the lyrics.

like i said eariler, i cant have one without the other.

Gorra be the tune. Billy Connolly and Sting on Parky agreed. How can you possibly say the lyric if you are listening to AC/DC or Motörhead?

The tune because if i don't like the tune it is quite easy to make new word to it but it is hard to make a tune.
