Yes, Yoga is definitely great for your body for both men & women.
Yoga is my preferred choice & has many benefits for the health of our bodies. Yoga increases flexibility, strength & relaxation, thus helping us cope with stressors in daily life?
Other activities pale in comparison but some of the activities below wouldn't be bad choices.
Swimming would be good for stretching & it's easy on your joins, less gravity.
Pilates works on inner core strength.
Meditation for relaxation.

Yogo is for men, women and children of most all ages.

I'm not currently practising actually, but when I use to, I found it addictive in that it made one feel so good that you just want to do yoga everyday.

It is the only exercise I believe that elongates the muscles, most forms of exercise cause the muscle to contract and shorten.

It makes one more flexible and more relaxed. It is a discipline but an enjoyable one, it can be practised at home once the basic exercise / postures are learnt properly.

There are different yoga disciplines all of which may not be to everyones taste.

You could get a similar feeling of wellbeing and fitness from Tai Chi I think but as far as I know yoga is the only exercise that will elongate the muscles and it is also very good at exercising the internal organs, the muscular and skeletal.

Many yoga benefits exist both physically and emotionally it can be a very cleansing practice and has so far proven to be very effective for many disorders.

The physicality of yoga is one of the big reasons people get involved. In order to lose weight, to increase muscle strength, or just to increase flexibility.

However a big benefit of yoga is going to be stress reduction. Yoga is designed so that while you are practicing the different poses, you are also focusing on your breathing and connecting with your body and your spirit.

Both yoga and Pilate's are great for your core muscles, especially Pilate's

there are so many benefits for both men and women that do yoga. there is also tantric yoga which can be found in your local book store, that help you enhance your sexual activity as a couple. there is yogalates which combines yoga ith pilates. but yoga makes you stronger. you have to actually practice the moves in order to acheive this strength. I lift weights and I thought I was strong until after my first class of yoga and I realized that I am not working all of my muscles to the full extent. she will still need to do other excercise such as cardio outside of yoga or pilates but the benefits are awesome.

Yoga is not just for men, though in western society the majority who practice are women. Yoga has dramatically changed my life (and my body) and I practice every day. In the more athletic types of yoga classes, I always see men present. There are many flavors of yoga available, so if you try it and find that it's not for you, you may want to try another studio or a different type of yoga. I've done many diet and fitness programs (I'm a marathon runner and snowboarder) and have found the greatest impact with yoga. It has more than just physical benefits. I am a calmer, more focused and relaxed person thanks to yoga. If you're looking for a good workout, try a power vinyasa or bikram (hot yoga) class. Good luck.

First of all let me tell you yoga was practiced ( or you can even say invented ) by indian men since ancient times., though due to some reasons in west men do it less in compare of women. The thing followed and practiced by men in east is certainly be of graeat use in west. Its for all men, women and children.

Yoga makes muscles strong, increases immune system and prevents a lot of diseases. It also helps a lot in recovering from diseases. Its also very good for mind . Things like yoga is not only for mind and body but it can inhance you spiritually also. Things like anxiety, depression etc can be prevented and even cured by it.

You have asked for other options that can give you similar results, but you have not stated that you want yoga for which purpose for body, for mind or for spirituaal reasons or all. The truth is that no other option can have all these three qualities. yoga is the best ,there is nothing like yoga.

If you are looking for option to yoga for physical body(alternative form of medicine), then chineese accupressure and accupunture can also be of great help

Yoga is great. It can really strengthen your core muscles, and is amazing at relieving stress. Pilates will do about the same thing, but yoga is better in my opinion.
