Instead of soaking the paper, pour cold, strong tea or coffee into a spray bottle with a fine mist setting and spray on blotting with a soft cloth to remove excess moisture as you go. While the paper is damp, you could also add some wrinkles and tear around the edges. Then when it is dry or almost dry lightly burn the edges.

I wouldn't soak in water. Chances are the ink is going to run.

Rather, make yourself a cup of tea. Dry off the tea bag and then dab it all over the piece of paper. Take care not to rub as this will smudge any ink you have on it. Rubbing could also rip the paper.

So, just dab all over the page with a tea bag that is neither too moist nor too dry. You could also take a lighter and light the edges so they become black and give it some more age. (If you are young, have a parent do this/supervise you while you're doing it.)

Let the paper dry on a newspaper and it will be fully dry within a day.

Like the previous answer stated, soaking it in tea will do the trick. Also scrunching it into a ball and opening it back up maybe once or twice and I don't know how old you are, but taking a lighter or match and burning the edges slightly depending on what the paper is supposed to look like.

Blot liberally with coffee and tea mixture, followed by brief periods sitting in an oven at about 200-300 degrees. Repeat as desired. Folding and creasing the paper also helps give the paper "age".

Dip it in tea and then wait for it to dry before writing on it

Or you could very carefully burn the edges, this will give it an old look and cause the edges to curl.

Lay it out in strong sunlight for several hours. That's enough to do it here in Texas.
