If you love something set it free...(and then my version) ....if it doesn't come back, hunt it down and kill it!!!
I have also had to set someone free that I love, that I feel like I am at 'home' with, that I adore, than I wanted to be with. For reasons that I shall not go into. Set them free, set yourself free. The more attached you get, and knowing that the situation means that you cannot devote everything to this person, the more hurt you will suffer long term. Do not let this leave you with scars than no-one will ever be able to heel. Let the head take charge, not your heart. Sometimes the heart should follow the mind, sometimes the heart should tell the mind to stay at home and stop interfering. If it for you ....then you shall have it.

It depends if these factors necessarily mean you can't be together, or if you're making this decision because you THINK it will be best. If you had said it was unrequited, I would have said yes, to love them and set them free would be the best thing. If you truly are serious about one another, you should be able to work through things. I believe that there is someone out there who can be your soulmate, and if you've met them, then the only way to be together in the future is not to give up. Otherwise I'm sorry to say you will drift apart and move on in your own, separate lives. However, if the people are totally serious about one another, then they will be together. What determines whether they will or not is if you can overcome all problems as a couple, together.
I hope it works out for you.

What are these factors? Aside from moving to the other side of the globe, if 2 people are meant to be together, then there's nothing that can keep them apart.
Once you've decided the time "isn't right" then you must be grown up enough to accept that they will probably find someone else and move on and possibly forget about you.
Time waits for no one and we only have one life. It isn't a rehearsal.

Yes ....and sometimes after a series or marriages / relationships too.
I agree with that headline ~ 'If you Love someone, then' -with the proviso that you have the other person know exactly how / what you feel (which can be easier said than done).
Loving someone is a balance between the Selfish an the UnSelfishness inside of us.
If the person you love has intimate relationships elsewhere, then a conclusion is that 'one is indifferent to this' or has a set of 'peculiar morals.' Whereas, the 'desire for one s Love to be Happy in what they do' can be somewhat of a far healthier set of emotions than anything that the other so-called 'Normal' ones do for and to people we 'claim to Love.'
Best of luck.

I dont think that you are convinced that it was the right thing to do from your question
If you have split because you are with someone else then you have to ask yourself what was wrong with that relationship in the first place to make you long for someone else so badly. Or is it because there are children involved and you are concerned about the impact upon them.
You have to be happy with what you have or you will not move on.
Never have regrets - be that what you have done already,or what you wish you had done.
Life is too short
Good luck x

My feelings on this is that we all make choices. It is like a crossroad you either go right or left. So does divine intervention have a hand. I am not sure but if you are sure you want to pursue the relationship in the future make decisions to lead you to that person.

yeah, becuase if it is *TRUE* love then nothing would be able to keep you apart... it would be virtually impossible to live without them, and the thought of anyone else would never come into your mind.
if its true love then you will be together in the future.
one thing though- if u wont be together because of the impact it would have on both of your lives, is what ever reason u split 4 more important then love?
would you rather be happy with the person you love or listen to common sense?

Yes I believe in that. In fact I am going through that myself right now. I hope we both get what we want. I know how bad I want it.
