When I speak I get shy and can't articulate my question properly, so the teacher doesn't understand me, and they get frustrated.
I'm just really shy.
Just practice, practice, practice?

You shouldn't get shy! That's what school's for! If you still have problems, just remember that half of the class probably has that same question, so you're asking for them too. You be the brave one and ask. Or, until you gain enough confidence, ask the teacher after class. If you don't know something or don't get it, then it's better that you ask then instead of going home and not knowing. I congratulate you when you finally get the hang of it. It's difficult at first but it's for your own good. O_o

Practice, practice, practice is right. You might also consider writing your thoughts down and talking with your teacher privately after class. She won't mind if you have to read your questions to her.

Point to your throat and say "laryngitis" . . .
then had the teacher a paper with a really heavy question on it that requires them to use their adult thinking cap.
Of course you can only use laryngitis a little bit, but once they are impressed by your excellent question, you should be less shy .
And yes , practice , practice , practice .

Omg! This used to happen to me when i started High school.
I used to be very shy just to put my hand up or answer a question, and to make sure my teachers wouldnt randomly choose me if my hand wasnt up, id just pop my hand up and quickly put it down so she would ask someone else.

Solution:
People here are going to tell you to practice and ask a question and stuff, and not to be imbarrased, but i dont think thats going to work, honest!

You just need to boost up confidence, theres no way of anyone telling you or trying to find a solution to boost your confidence up.
It just come, natrually, So im going to tell you now, to tell yourself:
"Dont get embarresed, theres nothing to worrie about!"

Because there isnt! Is there?
Its just asking a simple question, so dont be embarrased, if youve got something to ask, just put your hand up and dont worrie about what other people think, its all about you! Not them.

If your really worried, you should speak to your parents or teachers, or ask your friend how they put this "embarrasment" out of them.
Your at school to learn and observe, so dont panic and dont worrie! It still happens to me, but you can get though it =]

Gd Luck! Luv Kimmy x

That's it - practice, practice, practice - just keep asking questions - you'll get in and in the long-run your teachers will be happy with your progress.

Good Luck!!!

i read this in a book and it really works.
keep practicing, asking and asking the teachers what you want to know. it's their job: letting you know all you wanna know
