My friend did not thank me, so I am angry. I have been avoiding him. What should I do ? Wait for him to ask me if anything is wrong, or confront him ?

HIS BROTHER DIED!!!! And you think he should be more concerned with singing your praise? My question is what type of friend are you? It appears to me that you didn't do it out of love for the memory of your friends brother but out of vainglory. You should go somewhere and do some soul searching and stop being angry with your friend who is probably more of a friend to you then you are to him.

You should have asked your friend if he was ok with that before having that Mass. Don't be angry at him. After all, if you are truly his friend, you should not expect him to thank you. He is greiving, and he needs your friendship, not your childish hate.

Never do something expecting to be thanked. Do it because it comes from your heart.

Things like that don't mean much in comparison to what he is probably experiencing emotionally. Don't worry about getting thanks from him, and if he is young, those kinds of courtesies are pretty much lost.
