In the coupon catalog I received today, there was an offer of 3 historical stamps for free. Since this sounds a bit too good, will there be any consequences if I order them (i.e., soliciting, etc.)? There was also another offer of 500 international stamps for two dollars.

I used to collect coins and recieved the same offers. The American Numismatic Association would run articles in its monthly magazine about how bad a deal these offers were.

Usually you are paying for something that is either worthless or worth a fraction of the advertised price.

Basically, if an offer sounds or looks too good to be tru, it isn't. 500 stamps for $2.00 is only a bargain if you want to have 500 useless stamps.

You get what you pay for.
