During pregnancy, your abdomen will expand until eventually your belly button protrudes. It is unlikely at this point that your jewellery will stay in, so it may be better to remove it before it is ejected! The best advice here is to consult your piercer about the best time to remove your jewellery and about the possibilities for refitting it afterwards. They have specialised equipment, including temporary fastenings, which will enable the jewellery to be refitted without the need for repiercing.

It depends on how big the piercing is.( how long your bars are). I'm 32 weeks pregnant with my 2nd daughter and for both pregnancies I haven't taken mine out apart from when having scans. You need to change from a bar to a ring though. The other option is to go into a body piercers and ask from the plastic strips they sometimes use when piercing eyebrows, these also come in different lenghts.
Good luck xx

u dnt actually have 2 take it out! all u have 2 do is get a different type of bar to put in. i kno someone who just got this different bar instead of losing her peircing! i'll ask her where she got it from and tell u where 2 get 'em. they look just like normal ones but they stretch with ur belly button.

I read an article about this subject while sitting in my ob's office a couple of months ago...

Assuming your OB doesn't mind(which he really shouldn't) then you can leave it in for as long as you are comfortable with it being in. However, if your belly button starts protruding, it might be safer to take it out...one of the PFE barbells(the flexible ones) might be your best bet...

Talk to your OB and find out what he recommends.

I kept mine in through my entire pregnancy. I spoke to my doctor and he said that we would just keep an eye on it and if it got irritated or anything we would take it out. Towards the end it started to get infected but I just cleaned it with anti-bacterial soap and it was fine.

It just depends on if your belly button pops out or not...

I would say when it starts to get tight, your belly starts getting big.
