I recently heard about teenager placing leeches in their mouths and other places on their bodies to get high. I have never heard of this horrible act. Would like any information that anyone has to offer.

Sounds a bit odd to me...

But thinking of the science behind it, I can see it would be technically "possible"...

There wouldn't be any chemical involved, so they wouldn't get high in the traditional sense of the word, but as you lose blood, your brain gets starved of oxygen and if the oxygen gets low enough, you can experience a sense of euphoria and a sort of natural "high"... Of cousre this is a precursor to passing out so it's not a good thing!

You'd need a heck of a lot of leeches to get that far too...

eww no! I thought that the commercial was a joke. That's terrible! How would that get you high? I really think before those kids used leeches, they were high when they got that idea. Yuck!

It is a public service announcement telling people not to smoke pot. They call it slom(sticking leeches on myself) or slomming. The point is "what could you be talked into doing?' It is a joke. people are not REALLY putting leeches on themselves.

That commercial is a joke. It's trying to compare using marijuana to using leeches. If someone is dumb enough to try that they need to be shot in the face.
