Ok, well 1st off, Kiss & Pantera were Not a part of that 80s big hair scene. Kiss' heyday were the 70s & Pantera were a serious non-MTV/no big hair metal band.

We're also Not talking about Metallica in the cheesy big hair category either.

Think some of the ones already listed:

Europe
Poison
Ratt
Bon Jovi
Cinderella
White Lion
etc

Man, you are making me feel really old to remember this time in my life and I'm only 30. For music I guess try Def Leopard, Kiss, Guns and Roses, Motley Crue, and any other "hair band" of the 80's. Go to a store where they sell all different kinds of music, like Best Buy, check to see if they have a section just for 80's music. I know Best Buy has a music area that is all 80's and has all different kinds of music from that era.

Kiss is more 70's, and Pantera is more 90's.

You can't go wrong with Poison, Twisted Sister, Def Leopard, Motley Crue, Warrant , White Snake, Queensryche, Kingdom Come...

And the Movie "We are Spinal Tap!"

the full component feels slightly puzzled, as if whoever compiled it replaced their thoughts about what consitutes indie rock halfway by. It starts stuck in 90s u.s., and the full component veers a lot extra in the route of the softer, folky aspect of indie rock.... besides the actual incontrovertible truth that there are surprises in there. yet they look randomly chucked in - the fall extremely stand out as an oddity in that record (the country's Saving Grace is nowhere close to their perfect album - or perhaps their maximum seriously acclaimed - besides, yet nevermind). television Personalities, Swell Maps, Husker Du - great, yet I agree wholeheartedly with the thread headed, "Murmur?" once you're going to include artists from that era, they have missed the apparent slightly there. yet then, perhaps it truly is not the point. It merely looks slightly extra like someone's' own conventional record than a suitable one hundred of all time. And that human being does have fairly strong flavor by my judgement. impressive flavor, in truth. slightly of narrow - yet then i wager it relies upon on what you concentrate on indie rock. And it style of feels fairly lazy to shove The nationwide in there already. Merriweather placed up Pavilion, too - it change into really released in the previous this year, and already this is on an more desirable of all time record? Smacks slightly of jumping on the bandwagon. Quoting from the area: "we’re not speaking about punk or grunge or classic placed up-kraut-rock, we’re speaking about indie rock." isn't Husker Du's 'Zen Arcade' extra of a punk rock record? great to ascertain some locals represented! (Electrelane's 'the skill Out'). extremely, merely as a itemizing of albums, i imagine it truly is a superb record. some interesting possibilities, and some issues this is made me favor to envision out. It merely would not outline indie rock, a minimum of not for me. replace the identify, and it will be ideal. Oh, and placed Aeroplane above Bee Thousand. :)

Kiss was more seventies, the eighties (what I remember of them) was BonJovi, VanHalen, Journey, Def Leppard, Led Zeppelin, Rod Stewart, ZZ Top, Prince, and I'm sure there are others that just aren't coming to mind right now

Yes, and it was a strange time. I would recommend music by Devo, Pat Benatar, Motley Crue, Poison, Van Halen and Guns and Roses (especially the song "paradise city").

Good luck!

Actually, it's Long-Hair. But there's some outstanding partying music you can use...like Pink Floyd, Rush, Styx, Boston, Supertramp, Journey, Asia, Duran Duran, Tears for Fears...and on and on. Not sure what era you want, but Pink Floyd for instance is ANY era in my opinion.
