I know I'm way too skinny (not anorexic, but look like it). What size would look best on someone my height? Right now not even the 00 in womens clothing fits me, andI feel awkward...
Any advice?

As long as your food intake is healthy, you're not spending 6 hours a day at the gym and in the sauna, and you're not purging or doing anything else to prevent yourself from gaining weight, I would not worry much at 17 yrs old. Go for a check-up with your doctor, make sure there is no underlying cause for your low weight, and maybe ask for blood tests to make sure you don't have any vitamin or mineral deficiencies. Not to alarm you, just to inform you, certain heart conditions, and other medical issues, can cause the metabolism to run at break-neck speeds making weight gain near impossible.

I was quite a bit older than you when women's size 1 clothing finally started to fit, and for the first time in my life I'm now having to make a bit of an effort not to gain more -- I'm 5'6 & a size 3. Some people will say that's still too small, but I feel great. I eat three meals a day plus snacks (including some junk food), and I excercise moderately.

Are other women in your family small, or were they when they were younger? In my family, most of the women are around 5'4 and only hit 100 lbs when they were in their 20's, some even quite a bit older than that. Genetics play a major role in this too.

Make sure that you're healthy, and enjoy being the only one at most parties who can have that 2nd piece of cake without worrying about where the flab will show up!

I'm pretty skinny myself. I think some people are just born skinny. It's not necessarily a bad thing to be thin if you feel as though you are healthy. Plus, my logic is that when you get older and gain some weight, you will probably still have a thin body. There is only so much you can do. Just try to carry your body confidently. I know it may be hard sometimes, but this is the case for most. As far as what size would look best on your height. I can honestly say that its different for everyone. Some people look better smaller and others look better with a little weight on them. Good luck in finding what your ideal size is for only you can know what looks best on you. After all, you're the one that sees you the most, right?

I was always the tall girl in the class (almost exactly the same height as you, actually!), I know how you feel. Nobody is "too" tall or "too" small, your height is something you can't change and you have to embrace it. If you feel self-conscious about your height, there are things you can do to help you feel more confident. You could get some really cool clothes out of a tall girls' clothes shop (treat yourself to some nice accessories too) or play a sport like netball or basketball to take advantage of the benefits of your height (when you keep getting baskets you'll be the best player in the team and you'll feel great about it!) . Don't ever hunch over to try and make yourself look shorter (I used to do that), it makes you look insecure and unapproachable. Just hold your head high and walk tall! And don't worry, the boys will catch up with you in the next year!

Well, if you are healthy, that's all that really matters. But if you look anorexic, you are probably not very healthy. Are you like a health food junkie? Try eating some fries or a burger, and an occasional milkshake is pretty good too! And exercise!! That is really important too! You need to gain weight the right way, building up your muscle mass, and not getting fat(like a pot belly) because that will happen if you just eat without exercise! I hope I helped you! Just being healthy is the most important thing!

It all depends on your build. In my opinion size 0 is too thin for any adult women over 5ft, unless she has a very small build. But you can't help the way you are built, which is different from someone with a medium/large build starving themselves to a size 0.

I'm 5ft2 and could never imagine being a size 0 and personally would not be happy under a size 6. Damn those hips lol.

HTH : )

At 5'7 you should look best in a size 6. That way you will look healthy, and hopefully ARE healthy. My sister has the same problem. She's 5'9 and wears a size 2. And eats like a horse, but our whole family is like that. I'm 6'2 and wear a size 10/12 depends on the make. As long as your happy with yourself, dont worry what others think about you.

If you're eating right and not over-exercizing, I don't see a problem. I used to look anorexic myself. (Complete strangers would ask me if I was.) Your metabolism may just be that fast.

If you're looking to gain weight, which I am guessing you are since you say you feel awkward, I suggest going to a dietician. He or she can help you better than I can.

A size 7 in juniors would probably be okay on you. At least you wouldn't be so self-concious. All of it depends on your body style.

If you're so thin that even you say you look anorexic, then I'd say gain a little weight. Try using a body mass index calculator:
http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/
to figure out how far away you are from the weight you should be.
Eat healthy, add more calories to your diet. Exercise as well. But not to lose weight, just to add more musce mass. Muscle weighs more than fat.

i would say a 5 or 7 at least. im about 5'5 and im in a 3.

but i wouldn't worry about u being skinny. i have a person in my class who is in 7th grade and she doesn't have little boobs and she is as skinny as can be. so don't worry. u just have a good metabolism. if u want to gain wait just go ur doctor and he will tell u healthy ways to do that. dont just go on a sweets diet that is really dangerous.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!
