I need to know how to keep my candle from going soft and melting all at once when it is lit. The candles I make turn out nice but once lit they burn fast and melt quickly, not slow like store bought.

Sounds like your melting point is too low.

I always used paraffin like you buy for canning. {Jellies and such} You can buy it at Michael's in huge pieces or at the grocery in small boxes around the canning and preserving aisle. I use a crayola or two for color and then buy scent. Mine never melt too quickly.
